History of Monroe Animal Health In the early 1970's, Dr. Mike Cummings began a small animal veterinary hospital in Monroe, LA.
For over three decades "Cummings Animal Hospital" established a reputation for compassionate
veterinary care. Dr. Brent White joined the practice in 1997 as a full-time veterinarian. After experiencing health issues, Dr. Cummings sold the practice to Dr. White in 1999. Two years later, Dr. Sara Groan joined the practice as a full-time veterinarian. Over the past 40 years, Monroe Animal Health has continued to maintain its reputation as a progressive, high quality small animal practice in northeast Louisiana.

After five years of planning and designing, construction began in May 2010 on a new state-of-the-art hospital. On March 21, 2011 the new hospital opened for business. The transition into our new 9,800 square foot facility has allowed us to expand our staff. Two more full-time veterinarians have recently joined the team, Dr. Nicole West and Dr. Joey Bynog, making a total of four veterinarians in the practice. We have also added more exam rooms, separate feline and canine intensive care units, separate feline and canine boarding facilities, an isolation ward, and an inclusive surgical suite. We have also extended our business hours to better accommodate our clients schedules. All of these changes have allowed us to raise the standard of care and better serve our clients' needs.

It has been a privilege serving the northeast Louisiana community for over forty years, and we look forward to the next chapter in our hospital's history. Thank you, and welcome to the Monroe Animal Health family.
